I spent hours reading and journaling. It felt calm and safe, even for a solo female traveler. The rooms were basic but clean, and the showers had hot water (which I didn’t expect!). Staff were soft-spoken and respectful, and the other guests were laid-back—not rowdy backpackers, which I appreciated. A great choice if you’re looking to unwind for a few days.

Over the years of traveling, I have seen many hostels. This one is among the best, comparable to Seattle hostels. Very clean, comfortable, everything is well-organized in the house, comfortable sleeping places. The owner is very hospitable! Right on the spot, they organized a tour to the volcano Ijen for me, for which I came here. The place is quiet, calm, on the river bank, but there are no mosquitoes. A dream of a perfectionist traveler!😃

I liked everything about this hostel, it is truly zen - there are little fishes swimming in the pond, even a turtle which seems to be smart and observant. Dormitory room was great, comfy beds, clean and very well designed bathrooms. There is coffee and tea, water and biscuits available for the guests throughout the day. Restaurants, good warungs and a supermarket around the corner. Go there and enjoy Jogja.

We had an amazing stay at Gorga hostel. The host John and the team is amazing. They will help you with anything needed. The place beautiful, clean and central, so all of the places of central jogya are in walking distance. Nice cute and quiet but still lively neighborhood! Everything perfect 10/10 recommend and will come back!
