Beautiful location - for me it was worth it even though it is about a 30 minute walk to the main tourist street. Honestly it is nice being away from the tourist trap main drag even though I was only there for a few days. The road that leads to the hostel has lots of shops, some restaurants and bars, the sister hostel’s travel cafe, and Rachna Bookstore for great books and food. So if you are around for a while its great. The property is set in dense greenery, and does indeed have lots of birdlife. Great common spaces, great balconies, great food for the set dinners (I didn’t have the breakfast or lunch), and the staff is super knowledgeable, especially Saran. They have a deeper and somewhat offbeat lost of things to do in Gangtok, and will organize hikes for groups from the hostel. The standout for me here was the design - an amazing space compared to any other hostel I’ve been to in India. And very clean :)

Zemu Gangtok er staðsett í Gangtok, 1,1 km frá Namgyal Institute of Tibetology og býður upp á gistirými með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, sameiginlegri setustofu og verönd. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. They helped me book my buses, and checked on me even when I got stuck because of landslides. Breakfast was worth it too. Probably the cleanest sheets you'll come across while travelling in India haha.

Mellow Fellow Hostel er með sameiginlega setustofu, verönd, veitingastað og bar í Gangtok. Gististaðurinn státar af alhliða móttökuþjónustu og spilavíti. I had such a lovely time at Mellow Fellow, I stayed for over a week. The staff, especially Sandi and Annie, are great people who really made the stay special. They are fun, friendly, and have a wealth of knowledge about Sikkim. The facilities are also very comfortable, with clean rooms and a vibey common area. Of course, the location is also perfect for exploring MG Marg with dozens of restaurants nearby. Mellow fellow should be your only choice when visiting Gangtok.

Tag Along Backpackers er staðsett í Gangtok, 1,6 km frá Palzor-leikvanginum og 2 km frá Enchey-klaustrinu. Boðið er upp á ókeypis reiðhjól og ókeypis WiFi. My stay at Tag along was all I could hope for with my trip to Sikkim. The hostel itself was very clean and comfortable and provided a great place to rest my head after a day of travel. Tag along is in a great location that’s close to MG marg while also not being far enough to not be overwhelmed by the noise. The best part of my stay was the kind hospitality by Manisha who helped me out and was able to give some great recommendations. The effort Manisha and others have put into creating a great social environment at the cafe as well was really great to see. Thank you again Tag along, you’ll see me again soon :)

Zostel Rinchenpong (Pelling) er staðsett í Rinchingpong og státar af garði og sameiginlegri setustofu. Beutiful location, nice staff, clean rooms and very affordable

Mochilero Ostello er staðsett í Pelling og býður upp á gistirými sem eru aðeins fyrir fullorðna með garði, verönd og bar. I could see the dim outline of Kanchenjunga, not the clear view because it was hazy. Personally it was still good. Anyway April was not the right time to see the clear view. Michilero(backpacker in Spanish) Ostello(hostel in Italian) was a great place to stay in Pelling. Everything - home made food, family atmosphere  - was perfect. And Wake in Himalayas, the hostel next to Mochilero Ostello, was also a nice place run by warm hearted family.
