Hilo Hostel ligger i Nara, bare under 1 kilometer fra Nara stasjon og 18 kilometer fra Iwafune Shrine. The owners are extremely attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is welcoming and quiet. I slept on the last floor, so for guests carrying a big luggage, I recommend to bring a duffel bag or similar to bring your belongings upstairs. Although the owners did not hesitate for a second to bring my luggage, it was good sense to leave it on the ground floor and bringing only the items to be used (toiletry, pajamas, etc). The shared room has enough space to circulate. If you prefer to sleep in the dark, I recommend you bring the sleeping mask, as the lights remain on until the last guest sleeps. The shower is good , and you will have a nice hot water. The location is very close to the train station and to the Sanjo Dori street.

Yuzan Guesthouse ligger i Nara, med Nara stasjon bare 15 minutters gange unna. Overnattingsstedet har en hage, røykfrie rom, gratis WiFi over hele overnattingsstedet og en terrasse. This was our second time staying here, 2 years ago we had a great couple of nights and this time we were passing through Nara on our way to Osaka and decided to stop by again. The staff, as always, were lovely. We had a different room this time and it was comfortable, although not as beautiful as the traditional Japanese room. Great value for money with a great location, we'll stay here again when we come back to Nara.

Piece Hostel Kyoto åpnet i april 2013 med splitter nye fasiliteter og ligger beleilig til, bare en 5-minutters spasertur fra JR Kyoto stasjon. The best hostel that I've ever stayed at, it feels like it's too good to be true, the location is very convenient, if you're travelling places in Kyoto and Osaka. The staff are all friendly and nice people, the lobby is beautiful, very well decorated with nice furniture. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, everything is new and nice, the bedsheets are so clean and nice, the dorns are so spacious and have space for everything. The only things that I didn't like was that I booked it for one night, should have been two! When I come back to Kyoto, I'm definitely staying in Piece hostel, this really changes the standard of a hostel.

城崎温泉 HOSTEL Waraku ligger i Kinosaki i Hyogo og har en terrasse. Her bor du 2,4 kilometer fra Kinumaki Shrine og 3,9 kilometer fra Seto Shrine. Very conveniently located, 3-5 minute walk to the train station, local to all the Onsen’s, cafe’s and restaurants at your door step. The staff were incredibly helpful and very lovely - they were able to accommodate our limited Japanese and spoke very good English. The room was definitely more of a hotel than a hostel, you have your own space and bathroom, and a window with a view of a temple - from which you could hear the drums of an early evening. It was beautiful ☺️

Charlie's Bed ligger i Wakayama, med Takanoji Temple bare 2 minutters gange unna. Overnattingsstedet har concierge, røykfrie rom, en fellesstue, gratis WiFi over hele overnattingsstedet og en... The place was very clean and had all the amenities as listed. Mari(at the front desk) is very sweet and helping. There is a supermarket across the street.

Guest House mii har en gunstig plassering i sentrum av Osaka og har klimaanlegg på rommene i tillegg til en fellesstue, gratis WiFi og en terrasse. Super cozy spot and quite central. The host was really friendly and the room was perfectly comfortable. No complaints and would definitely book again.

Hostel Caranashi har en attraktiv beliggenhet i Uehommachi, Tennoji, Southern Osaka i Osaka, 8 minutters gange fra The Osaka Korean Church in Japan, 1,3 kilometer fra Osaka Seiwa Church og 15... So far the best hostel I stayed in so far. The interior design is amazing and they have like an array of comfy sofas, a kitchen, fridge with beers (not free) and the rooms are spacious and instead of cramming as many beds as possible they keep it spacious. Very nice host, almost every possible amenity I could think of available and great location, with a park across the street if you like a calm morning breakfast in nature. Just a few stops removed from Namba and subway is a 5 min walk. Again, so far the best hostel I stayed in and would definitely recommend it.

I Nagaoka, 15 kilometer fra Hikone slott, ligger Guesthouse Izame Ann, som har gratis sykler, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en bar. Well worth the effort to travel to experience a lovely ryokan, it's host and the town. I paid for dinner and I'm SO glad I did. It was a highlight of my stay and in deed a highlight of my 5 week trip in Japan. You sit in a sunken seating area and watch the ryokan owner/cook prepare what felt like a large number of individual dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. I was concerned about hearing other guests because, being an older house, the walls are thin - but the night I was there all the guests were respectfully quiet. I had a view over the "river" which may be a mis-nomer - but it is a peaceful stream running through the pretty street. I highly recommend a visit.

KINOSAKI KNOT ligger i Tayooka, 2,5 kilometer fra Kinumaki Shrine, og har rom med klimaanlegg, i tillegg til en fellesstue. Amazing location; couldn’t be better. I recommend renting a yukata! The hotel staff was so lovely. Kinosaki is a dream!

I Minamicho, 48 kilometer fra Tokushima stasjon, ligger Ichi The Hostel, som har en hage, privat parkering, en fellesstue og en terrasse. One of my favorite stays on the Henro. Veggie friendly for meals, card friendly, English is spoken. We booked a private room and it was just beautiful. Down to the smallest detail, everything was so well thought of. Would love to stay again.
