Machicado ligger i Tamano og har en hage, fellesstue, bar og gratis WiFi over hele overnattingsstedet. Cozy place in a good location near the port. We stayed as a base to see Naoshima and Teshima. Staff was helpful and everything was clean and comfortable.

Hibari House Guest house is located a 10-minute drive from Okayama Station, from where guests can reach Hiroshima Station in 40 minutes by train and Shin-Osaka Station in 50 minutes. I forgot something there and they went out of their way to send it to my new location!

Only 500 metres from JR Okayama Station’s west exit, Kamp Houkan-cho Backpacker's Inn & Lounge’s features a café with a live stage for DJs and other artists. Beautiful Hostel! Loved the style, cool cafe/bar, nice staff!!!

Kikusui Ryokan ligger i Tamano, 24 kilometer fra Sogenji Temple, og har rom med klimaanlegg, i tillegg til en hage. Very cozy place and good facilities.

I Maniwa, bare 22 kilometer fra Shoka Museum Ikegamitei og 23 kilometer fra Bukeyashiki Kyu Oriike Kyu Haibarake ligger 北房まちの駅 AZAE ドリトミー azae. Mr Sakamoto was a wonderful host! He does his job well as local town tourist information manager. He welcomed us, gave us some maps and answered our questions. It’s a converted Japanese house, not a hotel. We stayed in the cheaper dormitory part of the property. It was adequate. In the dormitory side the two rooms are upstairs and the toilet and small shower are downstairs. The toilets were clean and the kitchenette area under the stairs was adequate for simple dinner and breakfast we had. The local supermarket is a short distance away by car and open 9a-9p. Plenty of selection available. We enjoyed a morning walk along the lovely little river and through the town and countryside. The firefly park and pavilion were a short drive away but they were interesting to see. We’d love to go back in the spring during cherry blossom season and in early June for the firefly season. The stars were beautiful since there’s little light pollution!
