Well worth the effort to travel to experience a lovely ryokan, it's host and the town. I paid for dinner and I'm SO glad I did. It was a highlight of my stay and in deed a highlight of my 5 week trip in Japan. You sit in a sunken seating area and watch the ryokan owner/cook prepare what felt like a large number of individual dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. I was concerned about hearing other guests because, being an older house, the walls are thin - but the night I was there all the guests were respectfully quiet. I had a view over the "river" which may be a mis-nomer - but it is a peaceful stream running through the pretty street. I highly recommend a visit.

We got a room with its own toilet and bathroom for a great price. Traditional tatami style room makes it feel very humble and homely. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - they drove us to the station very early in the morning.

GUEST HOUSE NAGORIYA se encuentra en Hikone, a 1,7 km de Castillo Hikone, y ofrece alojamiento con bar y parking privado gratis. Maravilloso alojamiento, la cama es cómoda, está limpio, tiene cocina, ofrecen desayunos en la cafetería, se vé el castillo desde la ventana del salón... Pero sin duda lo mejor el el trato que ofrece el dueño del establecimiento, se trata de un señor muy educado, amable y hospitalario al igual que su esposa. Habla muy bien tanto en inglés como en español y es una persona muy interesante. En principio iba a estar sólo un día descansando, pero estaba tan agusto que me quedé otro día más para pasear por Hikone. ¡Ha sido un verdadero placer!

Maravilloso La casa está toda construida por el dueño y tiene su encanto, me quedé en una habitación bastante grande para mi sola A un paseo de la estación de tren, y paseando unos 40 minutos hasta el Torii, hay bicicletas gratuitas y con ellas tardas 15min solo Lo mejor de este sitio es sin duda la gente, tanto Kuro que incluso un día hizo una cena deliciosa, Katsu, el dueño, increíblemente amable, Micchan, súper simpática y Shintaro super gracioso He adorado estar en este sitio gracias a esta gente, volvería de nuevo sin dudarlo

We loved how accomodating and nice the staff were they were always making sure the space/ our room was tidy and neat and provided us with fresh linen, towels and robes daily. They cooked us meals and treated us like family! The location is beautiful right on the lake with amazing sunrises and sunsets and just a short 10 minuet walk to the station or a 15 minuet walk to 711. We honestly can’t fault anything about this property and can’t wait to stay again!
