Attractively set in the Konpira Onsen district of Kotohira, Kotori Coworking & Hostel Kotohira is situated 32 km from Kitahamaebisu Shrine, 40 km from Liminal Air-core Takamatsu and 40 km from Sunport... The "bed" is actually a neatly patitioned cubicle where I can stand up as if in a room. Hostel located right in the walkway up to the must-go temple, with restaurants open till late left and right. Super clean. Hostel of good design: showers, toilets, kitchen, coffee machine etc on ground floor while beds on upper levels, so very quiet for good sleep. Lots of common space to relax in. Staff helpful and informative responding with plenty eating and drinking options. Check in and out can be fully electronic, while staff in place during reasonable hours.

Set in Tosa, within 22 km of Daizen-ji Temple and 22 km of Nishihama Park, Hostel John Mang ゲストハウス ジョン offers accommodation with free bikes and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free... Mary and her husband Kai were wonderful hosts – so nice, warm, and welcoming. They helped us find a wonderful local izakaya in the middle of the night, and Mary took such caring attention of us when we didn’t feel well. We also saw how Kai and Mary help all their visitors and guests, booking stations along the pilgrimage and really taking care of everyone like family members. They are so joyful and kind that you forget you’ve only known them for a few hours. The place itself is super clean, nice, practical, and very comfortable. She even offers some food for free, which was such a thoughtful touch. The location is excellent – just off the town of Tosa near Kochi – making everything easily accessible: temples, nature, whale watching, marine activities, and the city of Kochi. We truly recommend this homely guest house with its wonderful atmosphere, amenities, and above all, its amazing owners and personnel.

Quiet, nice area, beautiful layout of kitchen, dining and lounge areas, great for connecting with other ohenros, so well-outfitted, nice rooms, bath, attractive, well-organized and comfortable, near major supermarket.

Boasting a terrace, Kotori Coworking & Hostel Takamatsu is situated in Takamatsu in the Kagawa region, 1.9 km from Kitahamaebisu Shrine and 2.4 km from Liminal Air-core Takamatsu. This is the nicest hostel I've ever stayed at, and it's not even close. I also stayed at some great hotels during my stay in Japan, but Kotori still stands out as my favourite. I had a private room, and it was so worth it. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was - the room smelled amazing, the mattress looked brand new, and the bed linens were crisp and white. The dining area upstairs and bathroom/ laundry areas on the main floor were similarly spotless. I usually carry flip flops to use in communal showers, but there was no need in this case - the showers always looked scrubbed clean. Every part of the hostel is well decorated and looks modern and cool. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the check-in/ check-out process was quick and easy. I really hope I get the chance to visit again!

Located in Uinouchi, Next Chapter - Guesthouse - Kito features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The place looks/is brand new and beautiful. The room was big and comfortable and the view was really nice. All was very clean and tidy.

Located in Sanuki, 13 km from Yakuri-ji Temple, 宿 inn TEK-TEK provides accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a shared lounge. Amazing place ! The capsule dorm bed are way bigger than what you normally get, with tons of space for your stuff. There is a nice big kitchen / common area with free tea, coffee and soup. The staff is really nice. One of the best hostel on Shikoku.

Set in Minamicho, 48 km from Tokushima Station, Ichi The Hostel offers accommodation with a garden, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Everything about this place is great, I loved it and stayed longer than planned.

Set in Mitoyo, 43 km from Liminal Air-core Takamatsu, BED N CHILL Shippoya 七宝屋 offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a bar. Despite being 6 years old, the property seems like it’s just opened! The dormitory still smells of wood. Everything is immaculate. The bathroom is very pleasant and modern, right next to the sleeping areas. There is a fun bar and communal area to hang out. There are only 6 beds in the dormitory. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The garden is lovely. The surrounding area is beautiful. Overall one of the best hostels I stayed in Japan.

Featuring a garden, shared lounge, bar and free WiFi, Hostel & Tatami Bar Uchikobare -内子晴れ- is set in Uchiko, a few steps from Machiya Resource Center and 200 metres from Omura Residence. Very nice accommodation and the host waited for me as I was a bit late when I check in. Amazing location.
