The owner, Malik, is an excellent host who speaks perfect English and goes out of his way to make guests feel comfortable. Since there were only four of us staying, he generously offered each of us a private room for the same price as a dormitory bed. The beds are equipped with mosquito nets, and they also provide towels, which adds to the comfort of the stay. Breakfast is included, and they offer a restaurant service for lunch and dinner. Additionally, they can arrange various activities in the area. While recent storms have damaged some facilities and the access road—possibly explaining the lower number of visitors—the place remains well-maintained, clean, and conveniently close to both the beach and Kalpitiya Dutch Fort. Day and night, this place offers the perfect tranquility to disconnect from the world and relax. The restaurant terrace has board games, books, and even a lovely cat to keep you company. I highly recommend this hostel—it’s affordable, well-managed, and offers excellent service.

You can feel their dedication and warmth in every single detail. The Hosts: Rohan and Shakila are the dream team. Rohan is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and helped organize fantastic kite lessons nearby with trusted instructors, making the whole process seamless. Meanwhile, Shakila ensures everything at the hotel runs with impeccable, top-tier service. They are both always present, always smiling, and genuinely care about their guests' experience. The Food: Let's talk about the real showstopper: THE FOOD. Shakila ,🔥🔥🔥 is a culinary artist. Every meal was an explosion of fresh, local flavors. The curries with so much flavor Amazing ✨✨✨The breakfasts fueled my entire day of adventure. Don't even think about eating anywhere else kalpitiya The Vibe & The Dogs: The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and feels like a home away from home. A huge part of that charm comes from the three resident dogs. These happy, well-loved pups are the unofficial welcoming committee and absolute joys to have around. They add so much character and fun to the entire experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the location is perfect for accessing the lagoon. I cannot recommend Greenbury highly enough.
