The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming upon my arrival. Because there weren’t many guests that night he let me choose the room by myself. I got an incredible mountain view room and it was super clean. The garden is well organized and beautiful, plenty of space you can relax and enjoy the day. At night, it is quiet and just about dark enough to see the starry sky. The next morning before I departed, the owner gave me clear directions back to Cabanaconde. And delicious meals btw! A lot of hikers just stopped here for lunch.

The bed was really comfy. Our room was at the back and was a bit chilly even in full sun, but there was enough blankets. The hostel has a tiny kitchen on the highest level where they serve breakfast with the view on the main square.

Sumac wasi is situated in Chivay, 3.7 km from La Calera Hot Spring and 3.7 km from Colca Archaeological Natural Museum. We liked everything about the place: spacious room, hot shower, a lot of blankets - so we felt always warm. The staff is also friendly. Attention to the details in the decorations. A lot of daylight.

Great value for money, the double room was huge, and bed super comfortable! Hot showers. Simple kitchen with everything we needed to cook our own meals. Easy walk from the main square. The host was lovely and gave us tips on how to go to the Colca Canyon. Would stay again!
