We stayed in the triple room with a private bathroom and we were very happy with it. The bathroom was spacious. Helga was very friendly and helpful and spoke great English. She showed us that there was a closer entrance to the Turda Salt Mines just a 20 minute walk away. The kitchen was well equipped for making a decent meal, and there is a balcony attached to the kitchen which is nice for dinner and breakfast. There are two friendly dogs on the premises. The house is just a five minute walk to the town with grocery stores and good coffee.

Situated in a pedestrian area inside Cluj-Napoca's mediaeval city wall, Hostel Retro offers 24-hour reception, free bicycles, as well as a sauna for a surcharge. Good location in the center of the city, on a quiet street. I was there in the off-season and it was exactly what I needed. Everything went well.
