"Le fournil" is a cosy and warm little cottage, ideal for two people. Occupying the former bakery of an Ardennes farmhouse and completely renovated, it sounds like a local "tiny house". The cottage is centred on an open fire (at the entrance to the old bread oven, still functional) and is furnished in a sober and warm way. The bedroom is on the mezzanine and is accessible by a miller's ladder offering an original volume under the roof. A private IR sauna is accessible in the second part of the building. "Le Fournil" is an excellent retreat in the calm and fresh air of the Ardennes. At the gates of the forest, it is an ideal place to start beautiful hikes and a perfect refuge where to rest after a day in nature. The cottage is located in a very small Ardennes village, along the "côte de Wanne" and at the edge of a large forest. Many signposted hikes - on foot or by bike and even cross-country skiing! - pass close to the gîte. The village of La Vaux is close to Stavelot (Abbey and museums), Spa and sites of the Battle of the Bulge (La Gleize, Parfondruy,…).

The village of Lavaux (Wanne) consists of houses scattered in an environment of meadows and forests. There are many marked trails, access to cycle paths (RaVel) is only 6 km from the gîte: Trois-Ponts or Stavelot. The nearest stores (grocery, bakery, butcher, bookstore) are located in Grand-Halleux: 2km Supermarkets (Vielsalm, Trois-Ponts): 6 km. For fans of "GeoCaching" many caches are to spend a vacation exploring nearby.
