Thistle Dew Cottage is the winner of Tourism Business of the Year Award. Thistle Dew Cottage is a stand-alone, private, home-away-from home with everything you need. The cottage is located close to town and across the road from the SS Golfcourse. There is a private patio with barbeque and also an outdoor wood fired pizza oven for guests enjoyment, and plenty of outdoor areas facing south for sitting. The cottage has a full pantry and I am a former pastry chef and love to provide all my guests with a choice of pie, cake, and other goodies. All linens are line dried and hand ironed and there are fresh flowers in all rooms. The cottage is supplied with fresh food of homemade breads & jams, farm eggs, bacon, milk, cream, yogurt & granola, pop, water, juice, fresh fruit, and a variety of dry cereals & snacks. I am a registered BC Tourism Counsellor. Thistle Dew caters to guests wishes, and goes above and beyond to make your visit to Saltspring memorable and with the desire to return.

I am a retired lady that enjoys meeting people from all over the world. I volunteer at the Tourist Information Centre and opened Thistle Dew Cottage in 2011. I was an active solo sailor for more than 10 years in my fifties and sixties. I was a former Pastry Chef and love to bake almost every day. One of my passions is gardening which involves constant learning. I am also a bird enthusiast and have many birdhouses on the property.

Thistle Dew Cottage is located close to Ganges and across the road from the SS Golfcourse (there is an excellent restaurant in the clubhouse open to the public). I am close to beaches and studios in the North of the island. Ganges has the famous Saturday Market throughout the summer. The cottage overlooks 15 acres of pasture that has geese, deer, eagles, rabbits, quail, and an assortment of wild birds to enjoy. There is an indoor tennis facility up the road, and also a childrens playground and a football/baseball field with a running track..
