Bürgenstock Hotels & Resorts - Pension Taverne 1879 is set on the Bürgenberg mountain, 450 metres above Lake Lucerne in the canton of Nidwalden near Lucerne in the Bürgenstock Resort. All Alpine chalet- style rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV, free WiFi, an iPod docking station, and a modern bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. The resort offers 10 restaurants with terraces and panoramic views of the lake and the mountains. The Bürgenstock Alpine Spa as well as the Waldhotel Spa is available for all Taverne 1879 guests for a surcharge. The Resort features its own Kids Club, which welcomes children between 3 - 12 years of age. The Hammetschwand lift, Europe's highest outdoor lift, and an Alpine golf course are located nearby. Guests can enjoy hiking and mountain biking in the area. The hotel guests can access the Bürgenstock Boat Shuttle as well as a funicular from and to Lucerne during their entire stay free of charge.
