Set in a Baroque building without elevator from 1714, Charles Bridge Rooms & Suites by SIVEK HOTELS is in the heart of Prague's Lesser Town, next to Charles Bridge. The Charles Bridge Rooms & Suites by SIVEK HOTELS is a self-service hotel (hotel without staff). This two-storeyed building - House U Bílé kuželky - was designed by the Bohemian Baroque architect, Kryštof Dientzenhofer. It took six years to build, from 1708 to 1714.
The Late Baroque annex – two court wings and a square court – was added later. The ledged facades of the building are ornamented with a profusion of decorative coping stone and crown moulding. A niche has been cut into one corner: this contains a sculpture of St. Joseph and the infant Jesus by Ferdinand Geiger, dating from when the house was first built. Directly below this sculpture is the sign of the house, a plaster skittle.
The Late Baroque arches on the ground floor, as well as the Baroque painted timber ceilings on the second floor, have been preserved intact. In 2004, the building was completely renovated; it has since been designated a Czech cultural heritage site.
