This unique hotel is a historic 300-year-old former prison built into the historic wall in Amberg, just 350 metres from the town hall square. Hotel Fronfeste offers rooms in the style of authentic prison cells with bars on the windows. There are themed rooms in the styles of the guard's room, doctor's room, chapel room and so on. Each room includes a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. A rich breakfast buffet is available each morning. The hotel also offers an events room with multimedia technology, luggage storage and a drink vending machine. Amberg Train Station is 700 metres from Hotel Fronfeste. The hotel is a 5-minute drive from the A6 motorway and a 50-minute drive from the centre of Nuremberg.
