The house can accommodate more than 6 people (see capacity information), and as you can see, its rooms are made of rodeno stone that form large stone arches built by the ancients several centuries ago. The house was completely renovated in August 2022, equipping it with everything necessary to fully enjoy it, both for short and long stays. It is very spacious, with large rooms, including a fitted wine cellar. It is the ideal place for couples' getaways. The main feature of this home, apart from its ample private and communal spaces, is that it functions as a great temperature regulator. Thanks to its architectural design, based on insulating rodeno stone, it maintains low temperatures in the summer and warm temperatures in the winter. My family, founders of this house in 1860, have always been dedicated to the countryside for their livelihood, and in particular to the world of beekeeping. Nighttime hiking trails are available along the road toward Eslida, the neighboring town in the mountains. This involves climbing up the mountain pass, where you'll hear the roar of wild boars, the owl's call, or even come across a fox. This nighttime route passes by the Carboneras picnic area, an idyllic spot in the middle of the forest for spending time with friends and family! We are a young family who run El Colmenar: my wife, my youngest son Simón (who introduces the house to our guests ;-)), and myself. We are in love with nature, the world of beekeeping, and everything related to the rural world. I love sports and adventure, celebrations or events with friends and good conversations, but also healthy living, tranquility, and free meditation. Chóvar offers all this and more.
