The communal space on the ground floor offers an open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen with basic necessities for cooking and making tea and coffee, a large kitchen table with chairs and a furnished living area with a comfy sofa and chairs. The beautiful outdoor area is cleverly designed to allow you to be alone with your thoughts or to socialise with your friends or family while enjoying the views.

We met in South America more than 15 years ago. At the time, she was a language teacher in England looking to perfect her Spanish, and I was living in Ecuador working as the manager of a backpacker hostel. After traveling together around South America, we returned to England for a few years where we got married. We then left and spent several years looking for the ideal location to build our dream—a warm and welcoming place to share with other people who, like us, love new encounters and the beauty of nature. We arrived in Gran Canaria and immediately fell under the spell of the island and its inhabitants, and it was love at first sight when we discovered ‘La Casa de Arriba’.
