In Spain, if you own a place where tourists stay, you are required to keep a record of who stays there. It is a little-known regulation, but it must be followed, especially since the latest approval of Royal Decree 933/2021, dated October 26. This record must be shared with the authorities to ensure public safety.
The traveler registration form must be completed with the details of guests over 14 years old and the person who made the reservation, even if the reservation can be canceled. This requirement has been established by the Spanish authorities since December 2024. If the reservation is canceled, the person responsible for the tourist accommodation must inform the ministry so that the data is immediately deleted.
A damage deposit of €300 will be required upon arrival. It will be charged to a credit card and will be refunded within a maximum of 5 days after check-out. The full deposit will be returned via credit card once the accommodation has been inspected.
