Until a decade ago, the small parish of Olveiroa, in the municipality of Dumbría, suffered from the usual problems of many small towns in rural Galicia: depopulation and the deterioration of traditional buildings.
However, today, it represents an example of a thriving and renewed town, with cosmopolitan air at times, and with its heritage restored and used, very oriented towards tourism.
The driving force behind this change has been, without a doubt, the Camino de Santiago, which has a stop and inn in the center of Olveiroa itself. Today, the town has centuries-old granaries that look new, as well as various establishments focused on the enjoyment of walkers.
The villa is located less than 20 km from the main points of interest of "A Costa da Morte".
