An oasis of space and peace – without being remote. Located on the edge of a charming little village, 400 meters from the center of the village, our gîte Le Lampeau is named after the small stream running alongside the property. This 60 m² ground-floor gîte is fully equipped for a comfortable stay and offers a private entrance and driveway – your privacy is guaranteed. Layout: • Spacious bedroom with a double bed, ample storage, and a cozy seating area. The bed is made upon arrival, and extra pillows and blankets are available. • Fully equipped kitchen with a stovetop, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave/oven, Nespresso machine, kettle, and a basic supply of coffee and tea. Kitchen linen is provided. • Modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, vanity unit, toilet, hairdryer, and toilet paper. Towels are refreshed every three days. • Bright living room with a large 2.8-meter sliding door, sofa bed, two armchairs, a small desk, and an Android smart TV. • Fast and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the gîte and on the terrace. • Air conditioning for warm days and hot air heating for cooler seasons. Outdoor space: • Private terrace with dining table, lounge chairs, and a large awning for shade. • Enclosed private garden with a 4.5-meter diameter above-ground pool, a pergola with sun loungers, and a peaceful shaded spot under a beautiful weeping willow – perfect for relaxing with a book. • A sunny corner with seating is ideal for enjoying your morning coffee. Parking is available on-site, directly next to the gîte.

From sailing the seas to countryside living – warm hospitality awaits. After eight years of sailing through the Caribbean on our sailboat, we settled in the peaceful French countryside in 2022. Our home is located on a 1.2-hectare property, which we share with our two dogs, a cat, and a few chickens. We enjoy good food, a glass of wine, walking in nature, playing golf, and gradually renovating our buildings. We love welcoming guests and sharing the calm and charm of our surroundings with them.

Our gîte is located in Montignac de Lauzun, where a small grocery store is within walking distance and open every morning and Friday afternoon. Here you can find fresh bread and local products. On weekends, the local “English” pub is open, serving its own brewed beer, often accompanied by live music and offering food. The region is known for its beautiful bastide villages with charming markets, such as Eymet, Castillonnes, Monflanquin, and Villeréal — the latter two are even listed among the most beautiful towns in France. Issigeac, with its lively Sunday market, is also worth a visit. A day trip to Bergerac is highly recommended, with its picturesque old town along the Dordogne River and, of course, Cyrano de Bergerac as a highlight. History enthusiasts can explore several castles in the area, including the Château de Duras with its stunning views. Wine lovers will find plenty of opportunities for wine tasting nearby. Château Monbazillac is famous for its delicious white wine and definitely worth a visit. Château Fayols offers personal guided tours that make the experience even more special. In the charming village of Mas d’Agenais, you can visit a church housing an original Rembrandt painting — the only one not kept in a museum or private collection. For those who enjoy nature and outdoor activities, the surroundings offer plenty of options. You can hike or cycle through beautiful landscapes, kayak on the Dordogne River, or play golf at one of the nearby courses. During July and August, almost every village hosts festive evening markets with delicious food, music, and a lively atmosphere.
