Our apartment is in the heart of the old town of Bagneres-de-Bigorre yet is in a beautiful and peaceful location which includes a shared but private courtyard garden. The apartment is one of several in a refurbished three story building that was once a hotel. On the first floor there is an open plan living room including a well-equipped kitchen. The living room opens onto a balcony which overlooks the courtyard. On this floor is a double sofa bed and the separate utility room contains a washing machine. Stairs lead up to the three bedrooms (one double, two twins), the bathroom and the shower room; each of these has a WC. Outside is a charming, shared, enclosed courtyard with a pedestrian gate and the property has access to a secure ground floor storage area suitable for bikes, skis and so on. There is free parking available nearby by the river. The property over 80m2 and is centrally heated.

I live in New Zealand but spend 2 months a year in my apartment which I love. I also love the charming town and the wonderful area. Don't worry about me not being local I have a lovely woman who looks after the place for me. I love skiing and walking and I'm a writer

Bagnères-de-Bigorre is a charming old spa town in the Pyrénées. It has a fabulous thermal spa bath. Many people also come here to 'take the cure' provided by the purported health benefits of the local water. There is also a casino, a swimming pool, cinema, museum, a marvellous market and mini-golf. It’s a lovely location, a river flows through the town and there are amazing views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. Several restaurants offer a variety of cuisines including the local specialities. The town is also ideally situated for all sorts of sporting activities, including cycling, hiking, fishing, climbing, golf, canoeing and skiing in the winter - the nearest ski resort, La Mongie, the largest in the Pyrenees, is 30 minutes drive away! From Bagnères-de-Bigorre you can easily get to many other attractions such as the sanctuary at Lourdes, the Pic du Midi observatory and the Cirque du Gavarnie (a UNESCO world heritage site). Pau is a lovely town to visit and the Atlantic coast and Spain are accessible for day trips. The nearest airports are Pau (I hour drive away, but not many airlines fly there ), Tarbes/Lourdes (30 minutes) and Toulouse (1 hour 40 minutes)
