Neil & Lesley enjoy skiing, walking and cycling. We are happy to help organise your ski hire and recommend lift passes suitable to you and your group. We can offer cycle support if required (subject to availability and cost is dependent on route). You can leave your car on the public parking by the house for a weekend and walk to the Glere refuge and Neouvielle Lakes after your first night at Soupiets .We are happy to make picnics and evening meals with 48hrs advance notice.

Soupiets is on the main road leading to the Tourmalet Ski lifts making it easy to park and drive to the ski domain without navigating difficult small roads. Evening meals are available on request with 48 hours advance notice and there is a small bar for those eating at the premises. In the evenings you can relax in the salon by the fire. Soupiets is an ideal stopover for walkers visiting the Néouvielle Lakes. If you are travelling and need an easy first night we offer a perfect stopover . We can cater for 6 individuals if you are looking for single beds or 7 people if double beds are an option. Motorcyclists often stay with us before tackling the classic climb of the Tourmalet after breakfast . We are situated 15km from the top. Cyclists that are touring can reserve space in our garage and with 48hrs notice we can provide a meal if needed. The sun shines on Soupiets from May until September. Guests can relax with a book in the garden that runs adjacent to the Rte Du Tourmalet. Although this road is busy during the Summer months it provides entertainment with the variety of vehicles you see pass. Morgans, Citroen 2CV rallies and above all bicycles. All Guests staying at Soupiets benefit from comfortable bedrooms with triple glazed windows that keep the cold out in Winter and reduce the noise of the Bastan river that runs opposite the house. We offer guests a library to swap books and a comfortable living room that has a log fire for cosy Winter evenings or cool shade on hot Summer days. Soupiets also offers Table d`hotes with a choice of wine or beer to compliment your meal. In the Summer we offer a planchette to share with a glass of wine (price on request). This must be reserved 48 hours in advance with a note of any allergies. Choose to eat inside or on glorious days choose to sit on the terrace at the front of the house or on a bench in the garden and watch the world go by.

Soupiets is situated directly on the Rte Du Tourmalet 15km from the summit of one of the highest paved Cols in the French Pyrenees. During your stay you will see cyclists of all ages passing a metre from the front terrace as they attempt to reach the summit. Keep your eyes peeled for the famous riders training for the Tour de France! Fancy a bus ride ? You can travel for 2euros per trip on the local bus service and we are lucky to have a bus stop at the end of our garden making it simple to visit local towns and villages without the need of a car. The GR10 runs above the house through the village of Sers a 15 minute walk uphill through the woods. This is also the village with the nearest restaurant serving tasty local trout. There is also a restaurant in Viella a 45 minute walk from the house through the village of Betpouey above the house and traversing the valley towards Luz St Sauveur. There you can meat the local farmer Patrick who prides himself on his lamb dishes. Soupiets has its own vehicle that seats 8 passengers. Lesley & Neil will happily pick you up from local villages and restaurants after a walk. If you have any other plans where this may be useful just email us. There is a honey farm 5 minutes walk from the house and is open on Fridays only, if you are here its great to visit and enjoy a tasting . We serve the locally made honey with your breakfast. The house may be on a main road but it is surrounded by beautiful farmland and everyday you see the locals of Pays Toy working their magic on the land.
