Lowerfield Farm is set in open countryside 2.5 miles outside Broadway and a mile from our nearest village of WIllersey, which is home to two pubs. Each room has a view across countryside and towards hills, which at the front of the house look towards Broadway Tower in the distance.
The core of Lowerfield Farm is the 17th century farmhouse, which now makes up the guest lounge and a number of the upstairs rooms, evidenced by the sloping floors. The front of the house is Victorian addition, and in 2011 we added an extension to enlarge some rooms, add new bathrooms, and create a new family room upstairs. We also converted the old stable block and connected it to the house to make a new beamed dining room.
All guest rooms are tastefully furnished and have en-suite facilities, some with shower, some with bath with shower over. Two of our rooms are on the ground floor.
Sue & Gareth have been running and developing Lowerfield Farm since 2007. Having met while teaching in Sudan in the 1980s, we both worked in the English language teaching field as teachers and then in personnel and management. We lived for 12 years in Japan where our son and daughter were both born.
We love living in the Cotswolds; the walks, the proximity to nature, the peace and beauty. We are also blessed to meet so many people who come to enjoy this area, from all over the world.
The Cotswolds is famous for its rolling hills and beautiful villages of honey-coloured houses, and from Lowerfield Farm there are so many notable villages in easy reach. Willersey itself is little-known but beautiful, with a duck pond and fabulous houses. Broadway, Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-Water, Upper and Lower Slaughter and many others are an easy drive from us. We are happy to provide a copy of a driving tour for the North Cotswolds that takes in these villages, as well as many others less well-known but equally delightful.
Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon is only 14 miles from us, and Warwick Castle, Oxford, Cheltenham and Blenheim Castle are also easy day trips.
