Formerly a coach house built in 1890, The Mews Room at The Coach House is situated in the heart of the Lake District and 2 minutes’ drive from Windermere town centre and the shores of Lake Windermere. free off road parking for The Mew Room with a designated space near to your room. Excellent wifi is provided free for The Mews Room. An en suite shower room is included in each room at The Mews Room at The Coach House, as well as a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. A local train service runs from Oxenholme station to Windermere'and the property is 10-15 minutes’ walk from the station. Many activities are available with the Lake District National Park, such as riverside strolls, cycling through forests or hiring a boat or kayak. The Coach House is a traditional Lakeland slate and stone house that sits halfway between the lovely centres of Bowness and Windermere. Our property was formerly a coach house and although modern in some respects, it still holds the character of the period in which it was built. We have lovely, relaxing decor with tasteful furnishings in The Mews Room. This ground floor king room was part of the original Coach House and would have stored the coach in Victorian times. It has been renovated and has a spacious shower room, comfortable bed, fridge, kettle and complimentary tea and coffee. We have provided a coffee machine and pods to add to guest's enjoyment (please check to see list of items provided). This is 'room only' accommodation with free parking with a designated space for your vehicle. Whilst the Mews Room is a self check in facility with a key box, hosts are nearby.
We love hosting and meeting all different kinds of people. Whilst The Mews Room is a self check in facility with a key box, we are available to answer questions to help you get the most out of your stay. We enjoy suggesting ideas for trips out and we are able to help you plan and get the best out of your time here - whatever your interests may be. Our interests are running, spending time on the lake and enjoying the area in which we live. Mark is also an artist and gets so much inspiration from this beautiful area.
Our neighbourhood is peaceful despite being on the door step to many things. We have a lovely wood to the rear of the road which can be easily accessed. Guests enjoy being able to walk out from the property and enjoy the local restaurants, pubs and attractions. There is a bus stop a few metres from the house where travellers without vehicles can hop on a bus. There are lots of lovely walks nearby which take you to the lakeside or over the fells. We are a short stroll from Lake Windermere and the many attractions around it including the steamer boats, ferry and the many shops.
