The Wheeldale
Situated on Whitby’s North Promenade, on Western Cliff, The Wheeldale offers cooked breakfasts, free parking and free Wi-Fi. This adult-only accommodation offers a cosy bar and wonderful views across the North Sea. The individually designed bedrooms at Wheeldale each have a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV with Sky channels. Historical Whitby Abbey can be reached in 20 minutes’ walk and the popular Captain Cook Museum is just over a mile away. The town centre is a 10-minute walk away.

We are a 14 bedroomed family run business on the west cliff of Whitby. Alongside our excellent team of staff, we endeavour to make your stay the most welcoming as possible by creating a warm atmosphere. Our friendly team will happily help you plan a trip to a local museum or heritage site. Or if you prefer to relax and unwind, we have a guest lounge open from 7am - 10pm daily.

The Wheeldale was built in 1928, with various size en-suite rooms. We have added multiple extensions to the property throughout the years which has allowed us to expand our family run business.
Our breakfast's use locally sourced ingredients from 'Ford's of Glaisdale' for meat products, 'Billy Wilson's' for fruit and vegetables, and free range eggs from a local farmer.

We are situated on the West Cliff which is 0.4 miles from the Spa pavillion, 0.5 miles away from the whale bones, and on top of the cliff which stands above Whitby beach. To access the beach, it is a lovely walk down the gradient path looking onto the pier. We are a 10 minute walk into Whitby Town Centre.
