At Lake Atitlan, it is common during high winds season, heavy storms, or high season, for there to be electricity outages because the grid is not strong enough and sometimes the electrical transformers are overloaded or trees fall on lines. These situations are out of our hands, but we have protocols to report them to the electrical company as soon as they happen. To counteract the inconveniences that this may cause, we have a generator that is used in a rationed manner to ensure that the house has basic services until the electricity is restored. When we don't have electricity, no Wi-Fi, no hot water. Atitlan Sunset Lodge Apartments manager can assist- guests in arranging activities like lake tours, hiking, kayaking and paragliding. La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City is 115 km from the property.
