One of the nicest places I've stayed in so far. A forest retreat it certainly is and so peaceful and tranquil. Fabulous cabin with everything one needs, a real home from home. Thank you Paddy and Eithne and I hope to be back next year. xx

Great place to stay for a relaxing retreat! This place is attached to the owners main house, but we had a separate entrance that felt completely private. When we arrived, we were greeted by Paddy who showed us around and how everything worked....

One of our favourite stays in Ireland. Perfect combination of peace, beauty, serenity and comfort. Everything you need but close to loads of things to do. We loved every minute. Perfect for a romantic getaway or small family retreat.

A unique property and Asian influence and architecture! Only slept two nights but could have spent a week or more there no problem! So cosy - beautiful view peering outside the “glass house” panes of the windows overseeing the bush! Loved the...

Paddy & Eithne are lovely people and really accommodating. We arrived with a one year old baby & they provided us with a cot, highchair & a bath. The location was great. We really enjoyed our stay.

A calm, relaxing & beautiful architect designed home in an ancient oak & holly forest. Retreat into the west of Ireland to a property where you will enjoy a warm welcome in a beautiful one bedroom home. Separate entrance hallway, bathroom, open plan kitchen, living & dining room with beautiful views of the forest. Upstairs a peaceful bedroom among the trees in muted colours and simple luxurious comfort. Guests also have a 15 acre native forest to explore and the use of a private Finnish sauna & wireless internet. We practice sustainable living as best we can and ask guests to follow simple sustainable practices - recycling, energy saving and leaving no traces. Guests can also enjoy the use of our double sit-on kayak with lifejackets on the nearby beautiful Lough Gara lake which can be accessed from a safe pier five minutes walk away.
We are Eithne & Paddy a couple in our 50’s. We met in Bangladesh & traveled all over Asia as a young couple with young children. We moved to the West of Ireland 30 years ago and built this beautiful house ourselves. We live in an ancient oak & holly forest a 5 min. walk from a lake where we swim all year round. We have just returned home after 7 years living and working in Malta and are simply enjoying life in the Wild West of Ireland. The property is adjoining our family home it is separate and completely private and we can be available as much or as little as necessary to ensure you have a really enjoyable time. You can contact us by phone at any time during your stay and we are happy to show you the various walks in the forest. It is a special conservation area and is therefore an environmentally sensitive area with incredible native flora and fauna to enjoy.
A beautiful oak and holly forest spread over fifteen acres with many walks and beauty spots to relax in. It is also less than five minutes walk down a country lane to a lake where you can enjoy swimming fishing hiking and picnics in a quiet and secluded picnic spot used by locals and those in the know. There are lovely country lanes to walk around and the property is centrally located to Lough Key Forrest Park, Carrick on Shannon and Boyle. Guests can also explore the counties of Sligo Mayo Leitrim Donegal and Galway - all within an hour.
