The house was built by a Bengali family in 1929 as their spiritual retreat in Kashi. The exterior of the building carries the character of the Àrt Deco era. The interior has been lovingly updated and awaits to be your sanctuary whilst you stay in Kashi.
Anand Kanan is situated within the alleyways (close to the main ghat) and any vehicle comes upto Jangamwadi Muth only, which is 250 meters away and involves 5 min walk. Anand Kanan is for THOSE who want to feel the pulse of Varanasi, get lost in its numerous narrow lanes, listen to music and mantras while walking, enjoy local food, walk to ghats, temples and bazar, and experience the spiritual serenity of Mother Ganges at any time of day/night.
