Nestled amidst lush-green gardens in Sector 8 of Chandigarh lies ‘Anchorage 42’, an all-suite luxury homestay furnished with vintage Art Deco furniture, showcasing art and artefacts from all over the world, offering utmost comfort in a tranquil ambience. Art is central to the ‘Anchorage 42’ experience. You will get to enjoy & admire Indian modern and contemporary art especially Indian Bengal art. There are also many artworks from South East Asia decorating the walls of the Homestay Beautifully integrated amongst the artworks on display, is a big collection of vintage porcelain from Europe, Japan, China & other countries. Homestay Luxury Suites: In-room amenities include a comfortable sitting area, writing table, dressing room, LED TV, AC hot/cold, tea/coffee station, locker, bathroom with heater, hair dryer, rain shower cubicle, toiletries & 24 hours hot water. There is a common floor lounge & dining area, balconies, fully equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave, gas stove, kettle, crockery and cutlery. For laundry a clothes washing machine, iron and ironing board are available. There is a common large terrace veranda surrounded by palms for guests to sit around a bonfire or just relax lounging in the sun. There is parking on site and accommodation for drivers. We do not entertain / take bookings of unmarried couples at this Homestay. We reserve the right to refuse / reject entry to the property if proof of marriage is not provided / presented in person.

Be hosted by Sailor / Actor Capt Inderpreet Singh Dhanoa aka Dan Dhanoa & his wife Indian Classical Dancer / Actor Nandita Puri Dhanoa at “Anchorage 42”, a haven created by both of them at the City Beautiful… Chandigarh, India. Capt Dhanoa is a Master Mariner who sailed the world on Oil Tankers for over three decades and has acted with all the ‘Stars’ of Indian Cinema as a character artist in about 70 films. He’s a Sculptor and a avid collector of art, antiques, porcelain, Art Deco furniture and vintage marine artifacts. Also a plant lover, Dan Dhanoa's garden resembles a tropical forest with many different hues of green, lovely flowers & fruits. Having such a diverse work profile has led him to places far and wide & enabled him to meet so many different people & experience so many varied cultures. Besides work related travel, the host has travelled to numerous destinations worldwide on vacation with his wife. He loves to trek & has interesting stories to tell about the hills & mountains, having trekked to the peak of Kala Patthar, Everest Base Camp, Valley of Flowers & many other places in the Himalayas. Nandita Puri Dhanoa is a renowned Kathak dancer of the Jaipur Gharana and has performed widely in India and abroad. She too has acted in many popular TV Serials & Indian Cinema. Besides continuing her dance performance & acting, she also runs a dance academy. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and like her husband she loves to travel and go trekking. She has done the mountaineering course at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi and has also climbed some peaks. Both the host & hostess love meeting & interacting with people. Being globetrotters and having travelled extensively, staying in all kinds of available accommodation viz. hotels, motels, homestays, guest houses & airbnb’s, they know the needs of a traveller very well.
