Ever since I was little, summers meant one thing: my great-grandmother's departure to Varanasi. Upon her return, she'd bring back the famous wooden Kharadi toys, a symbol of the city, and a renewed zest in her step. I have grown up on stories of my great-grandparents’ love for Varanasi and the connection they share with the city.
