Selfoss is perfectly based for day trips. One of our favorite trip is for example, hiking in Reykjadalur or walk up Ingólfsfjall the mountain of Selfoss. One of our family favourites is to walk the beach in Stokkseyri because it is so diverse, but be careful over there as the tides there can be very tricky.
