My name is Kári Viðarsson and I´m a local artists here in town. I was born and raised in Hellissandur and my mother actually used to run the grocery store which the property formerly housed. Me and my family therefore have a strong connection to the house and have spent much time there. I also run the local theatre and culture centre, The Freezer. The Freezer is in a renovated fish factory in Rif, where I project manage and create cultural events and festivals of art. Me and my team take pride in keeping our apartments as good as possible and would like our guests to feel at ease and like they are experiencing a small-town Icelandic way of living while they are part our our towns flora.

The property has a lot of history in the town of Hellissandur. To begin with it was the towns grocery store and marked. Run by many locals and with ties to many local families. Later on it became a restaurant and bar and then it was renovated and turned into three luxurious apartments with amazing views of the atlantic ocean and Snæfellsjökull glacier. The apartments are stylish, we have made the decision to have the space as open as we can and it should have all needed for a relaxing stay. Our aim is to provide a peaceful environment for our guest, a place to unwind and forget time, to enjoy nature and listen to waves, a place for connection over talks and books rather than TV's and computers.

Hellissandur is one of the oldest towns in Iceland and has long served as a great spot for fishing. That´s why there are so many ancient harbours and places to keep boats around here. Perfectly situated for easy access to the best fishing areas in Breidarfjord in the atlantic ocean, Hellissandur has always kept it´s significance as an important town for the fishing industry in Iceland. growing up here is a privilege, there is so much freedom, friendliness and nature to explore and be inspired by. In short, Hellissandur is a wonderful town, full of nice wall art, nice people and right on the doorstep of a phenomenal national park, Snæfellsjökull national park.
