This Seydisfjordur Guesthouse is situated in the eastern fjords of Iceland, 25 minutes’ drive from Egilsstadir Airport. It offers free WiFi and a garden. Each simply furnished room at Seydisfjördur Guesthouse provides views over the fjords Bathrooms facilities are either shared or private. A communal, fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, electric cooker and dishwasher is available. Seydisfjördur Guesthouse also has a laundry room with ironing equipment which guests can use for free. Hagavollur Golf Club is just a 20-minute walk from the hostel. Seydisfjordur Information Centre, along with an indoor swimming pool, sauna and hot tub, are all 5 minutes away by foot. The Skaftfell Cultural Centre and Technical Museum is 200 metres away.

The house was built in 1972, as a post office and center for telecommunication. On the ground floor was a post office and service for telecommunication. On the upper floor was a apartment for the postmaster. The house is a concrete house and specially designed for postal and telephone services. It served that purpose for four decades. Technology changes in our century chanced premises so we did not require this service in the house. In 2011, Abba started operating a guesthouse on the upper floor in the apartment, which was particularly suitable for such activities. The lower floor of the former post office was changed in 2015 into rooms with a private bathroom and a spacious modern kitchen for guests. The upper floor was also renovated. Now we also have there two rooms with private bathroom and five rooms with shared bathroom. Today there are 11 rooms in the house of various types. They are double, triple and quadruple.
