We are Summit Adventure Guides. We operate tours and offer accommodation in Snæfellsjökull National Park in West Iceland. Our focus is to present the beautiful Snæfellsjökull National Park to visitors and to inform guests about the area and it's history. We operate Vatnshellir Cave Tour ,it is the one tour we're operating at the moment, the tour is ranked no.1 attraction in western part of Snæfellsnes Peninsula, by Tripadvisor. Snæfellsjökull Apartments are a spacious and cozy accommodation in Snæfellsjökull National Park. All apartments have both glacier and ocean view, right in the heart of the park.

We have 8 fully equipped apartments for short term rent. Each apartment can host up to 8 guests, a total capacity of 64 guests. The apartments are located at a former US Coast Guard Loran C base at Gufuskálar. Gufuskálar has a rich history since first settlers came to Iceland over 1000 years ago. Through the middle ages it was one of they key fishing centers in the area where rowing boats would go out daily to catch the cod that lives just off the coastline. Signs of village ruins may be found all over the area which nature is reclaiming slowly but surely. The views from the apartments are great with ocean view on one side and the lava fields and Snæfellsjökull Glacier on the other side. Gufuskálar sits about 2.5 km from the nearest village so light pollution is at a minimum for viewing norther lights in the winter.

The closest supermarkets are Kassinn in Ólafsvík (10 min. drive) and a smaller one, Hraðbúð N1 in Hellissandur (3 min. drive). Keep in mind to check the opening hours of services in the area before coming. Snæfellsbær is a small community, home to about 1700 people. Services might have limited opening hours depending on season. The apartments are located in the National Park so you are surrounded with beautiful nature all around.
