Das kleine Malcesine (ca.2500 Einwohner) liegt am Ostufer des Gardasees, an den grünen Hängen des Monte Baldo (2218 m/Seilbahn). Das gut erhaltene, malerische Ortsbild des Fischerdorfes unterhalb der sehenswerten Skaligerburg zeugt von einer ruhmreichen Vergangenheit. Alte Gassen, Bogen, Tore, der historische Palazzo dei Capitani und der kleine Hafen fügen sich zu einem reizvollen Bild. Zahlreiche Restaurants, Tavernen und charakteristische Lokale in der Altstadt. Das Sportangebot umfaßt: Strandbad, Segeln, Wasserski, Surfen (Surfschulen), Bootsverleih, Tennis, Minigolf, Paragliding, Mountainbike-Verleih. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Spaziergänge in den weiten Olivenhainen um Malcesine oder auch für Wanderungen im Monte-Baldo-Gebiet.
