We wish to revive part of Rita´s personal history, from the Domus Socolatae Residenza d´Epoca Charming B&B family villa. A memory inspired by the details they recall and the little chocolate houses that Rita´s mother loved to make for her upon the occurrence of each birthday, which will catch the attention of their guests.
In the Principe island we open our home along the river to guests and friends, coming from all over the world, creating a sustainable tourism, simple and at the same time special accommodation.
In the privacy of your own room/suite in Residenza d’Epoca, on reserve, our expert personnel will be able to assist you with the most suitable chocolate treatments for you.
You can experience our “tête-à-tête chocolate gourmet”, an unusual and romantic light dinner, fish, meat and vegetarian dishes with a touch of chocolate.
For an unforgettable stay, Domus Socolatae body cream and bath-shower, by the notes of cocoa, are provided, available in the rooms and suites. Enveloping fragrances creating a 360-degree experience, an emotional journey to make the customer feel unique and pampered.
Property information
The recently renovated and finely refurbished Domus Socolatae is a pleasant Art Nouveau residence conveniently located in the centre of Follonica facing the wonderful islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. The ground floor features a wide entrance hall with access to fitted-out private garden, where, in summer, it is served a tasty and fragrant homemade breakfast, carefully prepared and changed daily. Near to the garden, there is the Deluxe Suite Room with a little kitchenette. The first floor houses a double bedroom, the Junior Suite Room – opening onto a small terrace -, a living room with antique sofa-bed and a dining area with kitchen. The Suite Room, with fireplace, is situated in the mansard. The residence, surrounded by century-old trees and lovely flowerbeds, is an ideal setting for wedding receptions and all sorts of parties, lavishly cared for by the owner’s professional skill and kindness. Domus Socolatae is notable for its intimate, exclusive atmosphere, as characteristic of Tuscan hospitality. The traditional design has been kept unaltered, yet complemented by bright, refined details.

Neighbourhood information
Set on the coast of Maremma, right at the heart of the Sun Gulf between Piombino and Punta Ala and facing the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, Follonica has been a popular tourist and sea resort since the early Sixties. Lovely pinewoods, a luxuriant Mediterranean bush, long, sandy beaches, romantic coves and crystal-blue waters are the perfect mix for special holidays. The coastline is low and clean, an irresistible attraction for families with children. Every year the European Blue Flag vouches for the quality of waters and the cleanliness of this stretch of Tuscan coast. The golden sands of Cala Violina to the South, Torre Mozza and Carbonifera to the North, with the Sterpaia Coast Park, a pleasant oasis of dunes and shady pinewoods mirrored in one of the loveliest seas stretches in the Region, are only a few minutes´ drive away.
