The building that houses the Bed & Breakfast in Galatina is a late 19th century structure built by a family of master builders and stonemasons. The facade is dominated by white and Lecce stone, a material obtained from a very malleable tuffaceous rock, characteristic of the area. Staying in this charming B&B it is possible to admire the tools of the ancient stonemasons. Tools that have engraved the splendid stones, which decorate the exteriors and which have been rigorously handmade by the founder and builder of the building. You stay in rooms built with construction techniques typical of Salento, called Lecce vaults. Two are the most common vaults, the corner vault, very similar to the more famous cross vault and the square vault, better known as a star vault. Both are closed at the apex by a keystone which creates the thrust and the right balance to keep the entire structure standing. The protection of the building, however, was entrusted to a "santino" (small effigy of a saint) buried either in the foundations or at the base of the hanging. Do not confuse the choice of intense and lively interior colors: they are the result of a careful recovery of the original plaster and allow you to stay in an environment almost perfectly faithful to the constructive origins, but with the comforts that the modern era allows us. The Bed & Breakfast is structured on two floors: on the ground floor, in addition to the common rooms (reading room, breakfast room and kitchen) and a garden equipped with a slide, swings, hammocks and tables, there is a double bedroom with private bathroom. On the first floor there are two suites and three bedrooms, all with private bathrooms. The external terraces, overlooking the private orchard of the building, are the ideal place for a relaxing and suggestive breakfast.
