In the heart of Val d’Orcia national park stands a splendid ancient cottage. “La Poderina” as it is called dates back to only the 1700s and emerges by the medieval road known as “Via Francigena”, a road which once belonged to foreigners and wayfarers. This antique building still maintains its marvelous beauty thanks to the “Zali” family which settled down in it by the years 1900 and who still live in the cottage cultivating and preserving it with love.

The Val d' Orcia is a wide valley located in Tuscany , in the province of Siena and partly within that of Grosseto , north and east of Mount Amiata and near the border with Umbria . Crossed by the river Orcia in the middle , which gives it its name , it is characterized by pleasant landscape views and a number of medieval villages , two of which are well known as Pienza and Montalcino . Characteristic cypress tree , foods and wines Pici , Cinta Senese salami , Pecorino di Pienza , Brunello di Montalcino and the new wine DOC Orcia .
