VILLA CASTIGLIONI is the original name of this property which was designed by a famous Italian architect E.SOMMARUGA in 1900. When we pursed this property it has been abandoned for 35 years! After the original owner, a wealthy developer from Milan has dyed, the heirs could not divide the property and finally it went on auction. Now beautifully restored this architectural pearl stands over 3 floors on top a hill overlooking the LAKE . IN 50 mt you can reach the lake shore. Villa CASTIGLIONI is located between Villa OLEANDRA owned by a Hollywood star George Clooney and a world famous resort Villa D'Este. The interior design of this property was made by a renowned studio of Milan. The whole rented property has a private access from a manicured garden facing the lake. After we have retired from the textile business I and my husband first came to Laglio in 2000, and I fall in love with this unique place. It was not easy to find this dream home, but finally I was lucky, and we bought and restored this amazing property. Since then we have been spending here up to 6-8 months each year. We have decided to rent out our beautiful home Villa Castiglioni so that you can enjoy the wonderful life here in Lake COMO AREA.

Villa Castiglioni is located on top a hill but only in 50 mt from the Lake. So you can enjoy the panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains from every room of the villa . And if you are fond of swimming, we have a couple of Lidos at a walking distance. Our favorite lido is in LENNO, BUT YOU HAVE TO DRIVE THERE. Otherwise a very nice public beach is located in Laglio.The water in the lake becomes comfortable to swim in JULY and AUGUST. There are also pedestrian paths along the lake between the upper auto ban ( Nuova Regina Street) and the lower road( Vecchia Regina street). Those paths are long enough and offer the breathtaking views of the Lake , but also will take you to the old villages of the fish men and let you have the idea of the way of life of the local people. Highly recommended! You can also rent a boat and explore the lake with its fantastic villas from the water. The closest rent boat station is Turati Rent boats in Argegno. And you should visit the world famous villages as MENAGGIO, BELLAGIO, VARENNA, TREMEZZO, LENNO- one is more beautiful than the other! Or go to the local Italian restaurants, all very good.
