Ballaro' Hotel - Budget Room is located 100 metres from Palermo Train Station, and is housed in the former royal apartments of the Filangeri Palace of the Prince of Cutò. Most rooms are en suite.
The building is a rare example of 18th-centrury Sicilian architecture, and still features original ceiling murals. The rooms come with traditional tiled floors and wrought-iron beds. They have either air conditioning or a fan.
A sweet breakfast is served daily at the Orientale Hotel, between 08:00 and 10:00.
“Behind the solid wooden doors is a grand courtyard and the palazzo Filangieri, dating to 1760 and retaining original features this is the most impressive hotel I've stayed at in years, the riim was huge, breakfast was fine, and the Balarro market...”

“Preserved features of the old building. Friendly welcome and helpful staff. Convenient for the station but access is complicated, although clear instructions were provided on WhatsApp. There are a lot of steep stairs and no lift.”
