Florence is in general a very quiet and safe city, probably one of the quietest in Italy (and Europe). Only the central station might be dangerous but only late at night and if you are a woman alone. Residence Hilda is in a safe area, on a side of the main cathedral. You can walk safely till very late and nothing bad will happen. About events, we use our Facebook page to highlights them and inform our Guests of what's on and what will be on so that they can plan their stay considering also what's available in the city in a certain period. For special occasions as Christmas and New Year's Eve we use to send to all our reserved Guests an email with concerts, restaurants, parties and whatever might be of interest. For kids we have the Science Museum, special activities for children (reservation needed) at Strozzi Palace all year round, Archeological Museum, an outdoor playground area 10 minutes away by foot, a baby-sitting service, the Sports festival where children can play many different and new sports at Cascine park, one of the green lung of Florence and, depending on the period, many further activities that will be announced on our Facebook page.
