Nestled just a 5-minute walk from historic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kyo no Yado Sangen Ninenzaka offers free WiFi access and a beautiful Japanese garden. JR Kyoto Train Station is a 20-minute taxi ride away. Japanese-style rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and Japanese futon bedding. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can relax with a cup of green tea at the seating area featuring a low table and seating cushions. Nice to meet you, my name is Tanaka, the owner. I enjoy traveling abroad, and I really enjoy working at this Ryokan, where many foreigners stay. I am also a flower arrangement(IKEBANA) instructor, so if you are interested in flower arrangement, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I hope you will stay at this ryokan for one more night. I will work hard to create an inn that will make you want to stay another night and have a very nice holiday.

It is in a quiet place on the east side of the Ninenzaka and Sanneizaka.
Opening the lattice of Sangen, like a hiding place, is a green moss garden that welcomes guests. Flowers are in bloom at the entrance in all seasons such as Satsuki in spring, Tsubaki and beautiful red leaves in autumn.
You can see the Yasaka Tower (Five Story Pagoda), Gion, Kodaiji, and the west mountains of Kyoto city from the terrace. The time spent gazing at the night view of the ancient city is very luxurious. If it snows or rains you can experience the beauty of Kyoto uniquely in Sangen.
Sangen has two types of Japanese-style rooms. One room can accommodate up to two people.
The other is a suite room that can accommodate up to four people. Of course, this suite can accommodate one person.

Kiyomizu Temple is full of a large number of tourists in the daytime, however, it is quite calm in the morning and evening. The charm of Kyoto consists of the beauty of its calm temples. Sangen is located within a 7 minute walk of Kiyomizu Temple. Because it opens at 6:00 a.m., the guests staying in Sangen can go to Kiyomizu Temple before breakfast .
Moreover, in Ninenzaka and Sanneizaka, many traditional buildings that showcase the atmosphere of the ancient capital are lined up, and here you can feel authentic Kyoto.
In the vicinity, there are temple and shrines such as Kenninji, Yasaka Shrine, Chionin Temple, Shōren-in Monzeki.
Gion and Nishiki Market are within walking distance, so it is convenient for both shopping and dining.

Via Taxi
- Enter Kodaiji Minamimon-dori Street from Higashioji-dori Street.
- Then climb the street and enter Ninen-zaka Street to your right.
- Go forward until you see a Hello Kitty Cafe to your right.
- Enter the street opposite the cafe, and turn right into the 1st street you see.
- Keep going until you see the property to your left.
Via Bus
- Catch Bus 206 from Kyoto Station
- Get off at either Kiyomizumichi or Higashiyamayasui stops.
- The bus will drop you off on Higashioji-dori Street, so enter Kodaiji Minamimon-dori Street.
- Then climb the street and enter Ninen-zaka Street to your right.
- Go forward until you see a Hello Kitty Cafe to your right.
- Enter the street opposite the cafe, and turn right into the 1st street you see.
- Keep going until you see the property to your left.
*Please be noted that taxis cannot enter Sannenzaka-Street, taxis must go through Ninenzaka Street.
*The property is located on the street next to Ninenzaka Street, to the east side.
