In Japan, the number of vacant houses continues to rise. Many buildings that could still be used are quietly torn down and forgotten. This project began with a simple question: Is there something we can do? In 2025, we opened YALDA apartment, converting a long-abandoned townhouse into a quiet, minimal place to stay. In 2026, we plan to open YALDA hotel, a renovated 120-year-old former teahouse. This work is made possible by the support of the local community—and by the guests who choose to stay with us. By honoring the history and character of each place, we hope to continue in a way that feels thoughtful, sustainable, and kind.

YALDA apartment is a minimalist, two-bedroom designer apartment hotel located in a quiet residential neighborhood. When we found the building, it had been vacant for many years—with no walls or floors, only the structure remained. We carefully renovated it, preserving the quiet character of a Kanazawa townhouse, and created a space that is clean, simple, and comfortable. All furniture, tableware, and amenities are selected with one principle in mind: kindness. The two-bedroom apartment includes a kitchen and washing machine, making it suitable for longer stays. For all cleaning and laundry in the building, we use only plant-based, biodegradable products—gentle on the body and the environment.

YALDA apartment is located next to Ishiura Shrine, in a quiet residential area. It’s just a 1-minute walk to the 21st Century Museum, 3 minutes to Kenrokuen Garden, and 8 minutes to the D.T. Suzuki Museum. The nearest bus stop is also a 1-minute walk away, offering easy access to the Higashi Chaya District and Omicho Market. The lively Katamachi area, known for its local restaurants and bars, is also within walking distance. Start your morning with a quiet stroll through the museum district or Kenrokuen. In the afternoon, visit cafés or the D.T. Suzuki Museum. In the evening, enjoy local food and sake in Katamachi. A calm, local Kanazawa stay—all within walking distance.
