Built in the 1800s, 15 Main Gate is over a hundred years old. It is also one of the few buildings which withstood the bombings of the world war. As depicted in the photo taken after the 19th January 1941 bombings, the Inquisitor's Palace and 15 Main Gate can be seen behind the remaining arches of the Dominican church.
Great care has been taken to renovate the building to maintain original features as much as possible. The "Xorok" which are the stones forming the ceiling have been exposed, the wooden beams on the top floor and under the skylight have been restored and most of the original tiles have been retained.
