This is a small romantic farmhouse situated on the outskirts of the village of Qala in the small island of Gozo. The property is located in a cluster of farmhouses boasting traditional characteristics and built from Maltese limestone. Farmhouse Cala is a close walking distance from the rocky coastline surrounding the Gozo harbour, has countryside views and is well placed, overlooking Comino and the Maltese Archipelago seas. The property is approximately 1km from shops and the popular beach of Hondoq ir-Rummien - which has been awarded the iconic Blue Flag status - a world's most recognized award. The entrance is through a narrow alleyway. The door then opens into a small path with plants. Once inside you have a small living / TV area, and a terrace with views leading of the countryside, the property pool and the open sea. On the same level, there is one double bedroom with a four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom and a separate shower cubicle. From the living area, there are stairs that open out onto an open plan living/dining/kitchen and a sectioned bedding area. The living area overlooks the pool, which includes a barbecue - a great setting for a breezy, warm summer months!

Qala is the farthest village from Gozo’s capital, Victoria, it is the closest to the rest of the Maltese archipelago, and the rocky hillsides of Qala enjoy an unobstructed view of the islands of Malta and Comino. Awesome scenes can be enjoyed, among other places, from the Qala Belvedere and from the small courtyard in front of the church known as II-Madonna tal-Blat (Saint Mary of the Rocks). This church faces Comino and legend has it that it was built so that the people of that island could follow Holy Mass from across the straits when rough weather precluded a priest from going there. Another interesting feature of the Qala coastline are the salt pans, some of which are still active. The process of trapping seawater in hand-dug troughs is a traditional way of producing salt in Malta, where the main ingredients- a rocky coastline and strong sunshine are in abundance. Qala’s salt pans are found intermittently between Hondoq ir- Rummien and Gebla tal-Melh. A walk along Qala’s interesting coastline offers all this, plus a constant view of Comino, which seems almost close enough to touch.
