The Suites - Piazza Kirkop is a new bed and breakfast accommodation situated in the heart of the traditional Maltese village of Kirkop. It is situated in the piazza (square) of the village where there is the village church and other beautiful Maltese townhouses. It is within walking distance to all stores in this little village, within a few kilometres of the beautiful scenery of Blue Grotto and also within 2kms of the Malta International Airport. When staying at The Suites, you will live like a Maltese where you will be welcomed by the nice villagers of the little peaceful and quiet village of Kirkop. The Suites - Piazza is brand new and has been designed with great care to ensure that our hosts will have comfort in affordable accommodation in the southern part of Malta. All rooms and suites are air conditioned, have a kitchenette equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and all kitchenware. Flat tvs with cable stations and nice modern bathrooms. Breakfast is served in an area where one can enjoy the views of a Maltese piazza (square) and listen to the melody of the church bells. We look forward to see you and host you in our beautiful accommodation.

Impormasyon ng neighborhood

Ħal Kirkop, a small village towards the south of Malta, is inhabited by approximately 2600 people. Its name believed to have originated from the surname Percopo, belonging to a courtly Sicilian family that resided in or had a connection to then "hamlet" of Kirkop. The name is also thought to have originated from a member from the court of the King of Sicily who visited Malta at some point and had a summer residence in Kirkop. The name has been written in different ways: Percop, Corcop, Chircop and finally Ħal Kirkop. The village’s motto is "Parva non Iners", which means 'small but not empty'. Some attractions include : The Anunciation Chapel : The chapel is very old. It was constructed in 1460 and then rebuilt in 1658. This chapel can be found in Kirkop Square and is still being used for special functions. Presently it is being used for Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Monday to Friday. St Leonard Church : The church is dedicated to St. Leonard and has more than 400 years of history inside it. It was first built around 1500 and then enlarged in 1760. It vastly improved in the 19th Century. The interior of the Church holds several paintings by Ġużè Briffa.
