Your host, Bonaventure, is a true Newfie. He was born in Newfoundland before Canada joined Newfoundland in 1949. My co-host & wife of 40 odd years, Frannie Thorburn - Polo, is a true Ugandan who was born in Kampala before England gave it its independence in 1962. I am an engineer who graduated from UBC with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1971. Frannie graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2009 with a degree in Travel Management. Because Bonaventure worked as a water & health engineer in Uganda, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, India in development aid for the governments of Norway, Sweden, Canada & the United Nations plus several NGO/private organizations, our family has had a diverse worldly education. We have traveled the world and experienced many cultures. Frannie, my wife and partner is a Cultural-Sharing Consultant who has traveled even further afield. We both love interacting with all cultures on our planet.

Punta de Mita's most central and unique Boutique Hotel has fully self-contained suites with ACs, kitchen, bathroom, living/sleeping/dining area, common areas for BBQs/Dining/Views. In this central apartment, every suite is unique with a flair of combined Mexican, African & Canadian artistry or touch. The furnishings, appliances, cutlery, dishes, beds, linens and decor in all our suites have been purchased in early 2020 as totally new. For our ideal retirement nest, or just our chill-out location, we searched all over Mexico, since our first visit in 1981. We got more serious in the past few years & found our hacienda our Boutique Hotel - away from all the bustle, but still close to a neat growing modern city, Puerto Vallarta. REMOTE WORKING - Suites de Mita - Boutique Hotel has installed 5G fiber optic internet with speeds over 300 MBPS. The WIFI signal is great because we have installed signal extenders on all floors, even the palapa -- where you can remote work or zoom meet while you take in the fantastic views of the Bay of Banderas. LARGE FAMILIES- Our2 PH Suites, Montana 2-BR Suite#1 & Azteca 1-BR Suite#12 can be interconnected.. Both could accommodate an 8 member family.

SUITES DE MITA- Boutique Hotel is located conveniently in the quaint fishing village of Punta de Mita. An easy 5-minute walk FROM YOUR SUITE takes you to its fabulous long sandy beaches. Passing through the village gives you the opportunity to explore & savor Mexican culture & meet the local friendly folk. Punta de Mita is at the tip of Banderas Bay; it is just a small fishing village with an easy-going laid-back lifestyle. In our village, there are numerous good food venues to enjoy & some trendy shops to browse through. With its world-class golf courses & great surfing, diving, snorkeling, whale-watching & fishing excursions, Punta de Mita provides a wonderful destination for your "get-away" holiday. Punta de Mita has amazing sandy beaches. It is a popular surfing destination, but due to the long beaches & little bays, there are also calm warm waters to just frolic in. Sometimes it can be noisy in our village because it is a typical traditional fishing village with small children playing in the streets and weekends are usually reserved for family celebrations.
