Villa Marilu B & B is an exclusive and quiet guest house alongside the beautiful Bacalar lagoon. Our 4 rooms are ideal for couples, comfortable and air-conditioned. The common area is equipped with sofas, board games and books. A path lined with bamboo leads to the dock, where you can find lounge chairs and hammocks. An ideal place to relax. Swim or cool off in the turquoise waters of the lagoon right from our dock. Appreciate the sunrise from here, the starry nights or the full moon over the lagoon. Have a ceviche and a margarita on the dock to enjoy your stay and the view to its full potential.

Let yourself be pampered with a professional massage. Total relaxation! Explore the lagoon in one of our kayaks, on a sail boat or private pontoon. Visit bird islands, a natural reserve nearby or venture to the cenote de la bruja, with more than 100 m it is thought to be the deepest in the lagoon! Discover the stromatolites or living rocks which are the 1st organisms to produce oxygen and are one of the oldest forms of life on Earth!
We are located right on the shore of Bacalar lagoon, away from the hustle and bustle of the town and yet only a 5 minute drive from the city center with its picturesque craft shops, regional and international restaurants, ice cream parlors and small supermarkets. Discover the history of Bacalar, the pirates, Mayans and Spaniards in the Fort of San Felipe and its interesting museum.
Bacalar makes a good starting point for day trips to the Caribbean beaches of Mahahual (1h) and the less visited Mayan sites of Kohunlich and Dzinbanché (1h). There are good connections to Cancun Airport (5 hrs) and the Chetumal Airport (30 min).
Chetumal, the "cradle of miscegenation" and capital of the State of Quintana Roo, offers the amenities of a large city such as large supermarkets, cinemas, shops and a beautiful waterfront in Calderitas with many seafood restaurants. From here, buses leave for Belize and Guatemala, or ferries to the islands of San Pedro (the "Isla Bonita" of the Madonna song) and Caye Caulker in Belize.
