El Mirador Hotel and Lounge is a boutique hotel situated in Mirador, Santo Domingo an upper end residential area minutes from all the new commercial development in Managua including the Gallerias Mall. The hotel was originally a private residence now converted to a 4 room B&B hotel and completely renovated in 2016 with new floor tile, upgraded bathrooms, new kitchen, a new paint job and all custom made hardwood furniture. Our rooms offer A/C, ceiling fans, high quality Serta brand pillow top mattresses, large private bathrooms with shower, a writing/working desk and chair, side chairs and a table, an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. We supply all the amenities like soap and shampoo. Breakfast is included and we offer typical Nicaraguan and North American choices as well as lighter Continental items and all the coffee/tea you can drink. Our website has the full menu. At this time we no longer provide lunch or dinner for guests. Our front patio affords a beautiful view of Lake Managua during the day and the city lights at night. Please be aware that we do have 2 cats on site in case you are allergic.

We are two transplanted Canadians, Shannon and Michael, embracing the Nicaraguan culture, lifestyle, food and climate, not quite ready to retire and still possessed of enough life to pursue an alternative experience, atypical to that of our North American neighbors. We will help you get acquainted with the country if you have never been here and assist in the planning of your vacation. We have many favorite places to recommend. Whether you are the wandering sightseeing type, or the more adventuresome hiking, sailing, surfing type we can get you started. We are the adventuresome type, both accomplished triathletes, so we have been to the top of 7 of the major volcanoes, although learning to surf and kite board are still on the list for us.

Mirador Santo Domingo is one of the more exclusive residential areas in Managua. We are also on the edge of all the new commercial development in Managua including the Gallerias shopping mall which is a 3 minute drive away. We are also less than a 5 minute drive from the Vivian Pellas hospital, Price Mart and Sinsa (major hardware store chain) and 30 minutes from the airport. Vacationers, from our hotel you can easily access many of the typical tourist areas. Carretera Masaya (4 blocks asway) provides a direct route to Masaya, Catarina, Granada, and Mombocho all within an hours drive. Leon is also less than 90 minutes from the hotel. And a trip to the beach is only an hour away. We can put you up at the beach house for a few nights, or even arrange a day trip to soak up some sun or just relax on the patio. Business people are close to many of the major businesses and after a long day at work, you can look forward to a relaxing evening on the patio with your favorite drink in hand.
