Carlos Callejas was born in Chinandega, the agricultural capital of Nicaragua. His family emigrated from Cuba in 1855. His father was a farmer (now he is exercising his lifelong passion as an artist) and his mother was an art broker. His house was a very social place growing up, with a wide variety of guests regularly. He decided to combine his passion for hospitality with his natural love of art in a boutique hotel that showcased local artists. ’There are a number of really talented artists here in Nicaragua. I love their work, so I support them and I proudly hang their work in the hotel. All of the pieces in the hotel are for sale, so we continuously have an evolving art program. Different pieces in some space can dramatically change the atmosphere of the room, so we get to appreciate the art everyday. After all, what good is a beautiful painting if it doesn’t have a wall to showcase it and people to appreciate it. Every room is different. We feel like we can offer a more authentic and original experience this way. The courtyard is surrounded by plants from Chinandega, because this is what I grew up with. We also have an herb garden which we use in our kitchen.

Estamos a tan solo unas cuadras de la avenida principal Bolívar. El hotel se ubica en Calle Los Pinos, una zona comercial tranquila y segura.
