Svingen, the house was bought by Sander a Norwegian with a dream and a big idea to make a hostel in Flåm. He recruited Joe, an Englishman with the experience to operate such an idea. Joe then roped in his retired parents and now its a real family operation. A Norwegian house with english hosts in the fjords of Norway! Cathy and Wayne the indentured parents are at the helm to welcome all guests to Svingen.

We are a cosy 8 room guesthouse overlooking the Aurlandsfjord, mountains and marina in the village of Flåm. This is an adult only property (13 years +) with old fashioned, informal hospitality and charm. The house has large social areas with ample seating and relaxation space, period furniture from across the years. A fully equipped shared kitchen that has plenty of fridge & storage space with free tea and coffee. The main feature of the house is the stunning Fjord facing shared balcony with seating and lounge space.  Our 8 homely decorated rooms feature a mix of older and more modern furniture all with large picture windows. Some rooms have a sink and some benefit from stunning fjord and mountain views. There are shared shower rooms and toilet facilities spread across the house.

The house is set back in a little nook separated from the hustle and bustle of Flåm centre. It has stunning views of the Fjord. The little neighbourhood is the perfect distance for peace and quiet while only being a 5 minute walk to the station and village centre.
